Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White, a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman, with the aim of securing his family’s financial future before he dies.

Here are the top three reasons you should be watching Breaking Bad:
- Bryan Cranston plays the leading role of Walter White, the high school teacher cooking meth with a former student. Firstly, Bryan Cranston was the kickass dad from Malcolm in the Middle, so you know he’s awesome already. Secondly, he’s won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for three consecutive years. That’s right, he’s that damn good.
- Based on the reviews at Metacritic, the critics have rated the show higher and higher every season. The latest season (season 4) was rated 96/100 by the critics and is currently the highest rated returning series on Metacritic. Breaking Bad also outscores all new television programs being produced as well, making it the highest critically rated television series on television today. Reviewing the highest rated seasons of all time, the only television season to outscore Breaking Bad was season 4 of The Wire, which nudged past Breaking Bad with a score of 98/100, but is not a currently televised show.
- Breaking Bad is one of the most beautifully shot and edited shows on television. Over the last few years it has been nominated for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing numerous times and won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Cinematography twice. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making each episode and it really does wonders for the show.
