Britain’s Got Talent 2012: Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli

Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte JaconelliJonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli during their audition for Britain’s Got Talent 2012

Wow! This guy has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard in my entire life. I don’t even keep up with these shows, but I sincerely hope Jonathan Antoine sweeps this season. Charlotte Jaconelli’s voice does compliment Jonathan’s, but I think it’s obvious who the real star is here. Regardless, the duo won over all four judges (even Simon)! Best of luck to both of them.

Give this ridiculously awesome video a watch below.

Music

The song performed in the video is The Prayer; the song was originally a duet performed by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli in 1999. It’s been covered numerous times, and Jonathan and Charlotte really nailed it in their audition.

What Pi Sounds Like

By assigning numbers to each note, Michael Blake created a musical interpretation of pi. It has a really good melody and was a pleasure to listen to.

Have a listen!

It’s Shit Like This Pokémon

It seems like the Pokémon TV show was constantly doing shit like this. This was one of my favorite shows as a kid (hell, it’s still entertaining), but sometimes I was just like “WTF ARE YOU DOING!?!!!?”

Ah well, I still love you Pokémon.

Wtf? Use your pokemon

A Timelapse View of Earth from Space

This is a really incredible video that has compiled snapshots of Earth from space into a timelapse. The photographs were taken with a low-light camera, so the lighting in the pictures is truly fantastic. The pictures were taken by the crew of expedition 28 & 29 onboard the International Space Station from August to October in 2011.

A Slice of the 90′s

Weezer, Backstage

Oh, the 90′s. So many great albums and hit singles were produced in the 90′s and thinking about them just makes me realize how horrible a lot of the radio tunes are these days. Because I love 90′s music (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?), I thought I’d compile a list of pop-rock and alternative music from the 90′s that was absolutely awesome.

I will point out that I’m not going to list every band you listened to in the 90′s that was good. I’m even going to make some notable exceptions by leaving out Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Yes, yes, I know there were a lot of great grunge and post-grunge bands from the 90′s, and I also know there were some bands that were so good that their sound defied all genres and they must now be worshiped as music gods. But that’s NOT what I’m talking about here. What I really miss is the carefree alternative and pop-rock bands that played the type of songs that just made you want to bob your head and sing along. Even so, I went ahead and threw in a couple of other old favorites as well.

And now, without further ado, I present a small fortune of the excellent sing-along, bob-your-head, jam-your-air-drums, play-your-air-guitar hits from the 90′s!
